1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Hakuto ("the Protocol"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Protocol.
Hakuto uses smart contracts deployed on the Base blockchain, alongside a web user interface and other supporting services. These Terms govern your interaction with the Protocol's smart contracts and user interface.
2. Eligibility
You must meet the following requirements to use Hakuto:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts
- Not be a resident of a jurisdiction where prediction markets or cryptocurrency trading is prohibited
- Not be subject to economic sanctions (OFAC, UN, EU sanctions lists)
- Comply with all applicable local, state, national, and international laws
YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR DETERMINING WHETHER YOUR USE OF THE PROTOCOL COMPLIES WITH YOUR LOCAL LAWS.
3. Protocol Description
Hakuto enables users to:
- Place predictions on cryptocurrency price movements (BTC, ETH, SOL)
- Participate in prediction tournaments
- Build on-chain reputation scores through accurate predictions
Predictions are settled using price data and smart contract logic. Funds are held in non-custodial smart contracts on supported networks.
4. Non-Custodial Protocol
Hakuto is a non-custodial protocol. This means:
- You maintain full control of your cryptocurrency wallet and private keys
- Hakuto never has custody of your funds
- All deposits are made directly to smart contracts
- Only you can authorize withdrawals from your wallet
- If you lose your private keys, your funds cannot be recovered
Blockchain transactions are generally irreversible. You are solely responsible for securing your wallet and private keys.
5. Risk Disclosures
Using Hakuto involves significant risks, including but not limited to:
5.1 Smart Contract Risk
Smart contracts may contain bugs or vulnerabilities despite testing and audits. Exploits could result in loss of funds.
5.2 Market Volatility
Cryptocurrency prices are extremely volatile. Predictions can result in total loss of staked capital.
5.3 Oracle Risk
Price feeds rely on third-party exchange APIs (e.g. Binance) and aggregated market data. Oracle failures or connectivity issues could affect settlement accuracy.
5.4 Blockchain Risk
Base network congestion, reorganizations, or failures could delay transactions or affect finality.
5.5 Regulatory Risk
Prediction markets and cryptocurrency trading face uncertain and evolving regulatory landscapes. Laws may change.
5.6 Impermanent Loss (Liquidity Providers)
Insurance pool liquidity providers may experience losses if claims exceed premiums collected.
YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND ACCEPT THESE RISKS. NEVER DEPOSIT MORE THAN YOU CAN AFFORD TO LOSE.
6. Not Financial Advice
Hakuto does not provide investment, financial, trading, or legal advice. All content on the Protocol (including documentation, UI, agent signals, and reputation scores) is for informational purposes only.

- Protocol / App Fees: If applicable, these are disclosed in the UI and/or enforced by the relevant smart contracts
- Gas Fees: Blockchain transaction fees paid to network validators (not Hakuto)
Do not proceed with a transaction unless you understand the fees shown to you.
